Meg’s professional and personal lives are marked with
countless accomplishments and remarkable dedication.
As President
of the Paul Goebel Group, a leading insurance agency providing
comprehensive insurance solutions to approximately 50,000 lawyers,
CPAs, engineers, and key business professionals throughout
Michigan, Meg clearly understands the challenges facing
Michigan’s leaders
and businesses.
In recognition of her leadership abilities, The Grand Rapids
Business Journal named Meg one of the 50 Most Influential
Women In West Michigan 2008, 2006 and 2003; and one of the Top
Women Owned Businesses, 2005, and 2007.
Meg is a member of many professional associations, and
has served as President or Chairperson of several boards
and committees. She has been a member of the American Institute
of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators
since1988, and served as President in 2001-2002; the Mid-America
Association of Group Administrators, (President 1995);
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Southwest Customer Advisory
Council (Chairperson), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s West
Michigan Business Advisory Board, Citizens Insurance Company’s
Western Michigan Branch Agents Advisory Council, and UNUM Insurance
Company’s Agents National Advisory Council.
She is also a member of Grand Rapids Association of Life
Underwriters (GRALU);Michigan Association of Insurance
Agents (MAIA); The Association of Professional Insurance
Agents (PIA); and the National Federation of Independent
Businesses(NFIB).
Meg serves on the boards of the Michigan State Chamber
of Commerce, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, Broadway Grand Rapids, Alliance
for Health and the Historical Society of the United States
District Court for the Western District of Michigan. She
has also served on the board of the YWCA,Grand Rapids Art
Museum, Planned Parenthood Centers Of West Michigan and the Economic Club of Grand Rapids.
She is a member of the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids and
Junior League of Grand Rapids. Additional community involvement
includes fundraiser's for the Michigan Women'a Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
Meg received her BA from Albion College, Albion, MI. She
holds Michigan Insurance Bureau Licenses in Accident and
Health/Life, Fire & Casualty and Surplus Lines.
